NEXT LOCAL COMPETITION INFO Quest for the Best September 26, 2009 Washington Dance Club 1017 Stewart Street Seattle, WA 98101 Directions From the I-5 North: 1017 Stewart Street. Just two blocks west of I-5 on the corner of Stewart and Boren Streets near the Convention Center. Traveling north on I-5 toward Seattle Take exit #166/Olive Way - go 0.2 miles Make a sharp Right turn on Melrose Ave. - go 0.1 mile Turn Right on Pine St. - go 0.1 mile Turn Right on Boren Ave. - go 0.2 miles Turn Left on Stewart St. Arrive at 1017 Stewart St. on the left Please be there ready to dance no later than 1:30pm USA Dance rules for costuming apply. You are allowed to video tape this event. Admission for Saturday Daytime • Competitor $15 – this includes your entry fee - Boys-additional $5 refundable for competition number • Spectator $15 - under 18 is free USA Dance Membership Registration • $15 annual fee 1. Register/renew at competition 2. Register/renew online at www.usadance.org DRESS AND/OR COSTUMING - JUNIOR YOUTH & ADULT For "Syllabus" competitions competitors must wear "Syllabus" Dress. Definition of "Syllabus Dress". Gentlemen Standard and Smooth Divisions: Dress pants, plain shirt and tie, and optional cummerbund or vest or black sweater or tuxedo. No tail suits. Latin and Rhythm Divisions: Dress pants, plain or ruffled shirt, optional tie and or vest. Ladies Standard and Smooth Divisions: Cocktail dress without excessive adornment. No ball gowns. Latin and Rhythm Divisions: Leotards and wrap skirts or party/cocktail dresses without excessive adornment. SYLLABUS - JUNIOR YOUTH & ADULT Couples competing in the “Junior”, "Youth" and "Adult" categories are not restricted in syllabi unless competing in a "Syllabus" event, or otherwise stipulated by the organizer. No embellishments of standard figures. No change of levels, head rolls, foot flicks, syncopations or delayed timings unless specified within the approved syllabus.
